Las Vegas [2014 - 2016]

Updated: Apr 11, 2023

Nick and I went to Vegas a handful of times between 2014 and 2016 for bachelorette parties and birthdays.

Here is what we did, that we remember anyway...

Las Vegas Strip

What We Did

(Over several trips)

  • Tropicana (lodging): Nick and I wanted to “do Vegas” on the cheaper side, and this place was more than adequate. It may not be in the middle of the strip, but it’s not too far of a walk from all the main attractions.

  • MGM Grand (lodging): I stayed here for a bachelorette party, and we had two rooms with a connecting door in the middle. I thought it was great, and it was close to much of the strip.

  • Bellagio (lodging): Another bachelorette party... The Bellagio is definitely the nicest hotel I’d stayed in while visiting Vegas. We all shared one room, but the room was huge. And, well, it’s the Bellagio. So, you’re near and connected to some of the most iconic sites on the Vegas strip (i.e. The Fountain).

  • Absinthe: Nick and I opted to go to a show that wasn’t Cirque du Soleil. We wanted something similar but different. So, after doing some Googling, we landed on Absinthe. It’s a much smaller venue with a single stage in the center. There’s a mixture of Cirque-like components, satire, and more adult content. It was such a great show. We highly recommend it.

  • Bodies The Exhibition: Nick and I saw that this (traveling) exhibit was in town, so we decided to check it out. It was one of the more interesting exhibits I’ve seen. If you get the chance, you should check it out.

  • Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay: We had some time to spare, so we decided to check it out. I’m glad I didn’t look into it beforehand, because it really surpassed my expectations. It wasn’t at all what I expected to see connected to a hotel.

  • Britney: I saw the show on both bachelorette parties, and I’m not complaining. Girl’s still got it. Nick notes here he has not seen Britney and does resent Ashley. Currently, the show is suspended.

  • OMNIA – Zedd: (On one of the bachelorette parties) We heard that Zedd was going to be playing at one of the hotel clubs, so we stood in line for a while until

Food

  • Frozen drinks: You gotta get at least one. Just expect, in general, to pay a million dollars for everything in Vegas.

  • Ice cream place: I really wish I could remember the name of this place. We got some (really) late-night ice cream, and it was incredible. It was an ice cream-cookie combination and the delectable sugar rush is just what we needed to get through the rest of the night.

  • Mon Ami Gabi: Nick and I had lunch here, and I remember the food being surprisingly good. And, it is located across the street from the Bellagio Fountain and is nearby the Vegas Eiffel Tower.

  • Lago: Also went here for both bachelorette parties. For one, however, we were seated on the balcony overlooking the Bellagio Fountain. The views and breeze were amazing. “How was Vegas?” “It had a nice breeze.”
